PIGA CT ROBOTIC ARM PIGA CT is a robotic assistance device for CT guided soft tissue interventions. It helps interventional radiologists in performing various needles -based procedures under CT guidance. The device is used to help practitioners in placing the needle into the targeted organ/lesion with precision and accuracy for various procedures such as biopsy, FNAC (fine needle aspiration) or RFA (radio frequency ablation).
PIGA CT is designed to work with any CT that conforms to DICOM 3.0 standards. The PIGA CT system consists of a planning station and the robotic arm docked near the CT table during procedures. The CT images are transferred from the modality (CT scanner) to PIGA console where they are viewed and the procedure is planned. The application software provides tools for the physician to analyze the image data and mark the target and entry points on the images. The application software then generates coordinate values for the device axes, based on these points. The device positions itself over the patient body (a clearance of at least 30mm from the patient body surface) as per plan, providing the guidance for physicians to place the needle accurately and precisely into the targeted lesion.
